For the sixth year in a row I am raising funds to support high-impact local environmental work through the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride, which this year will be held on the 50th Earth Day! I will join about 1,000 of my neighbors to ride from West Rock to East Rock in New Haven. I’m volunteering as a ride guide again this year on the 8-mile kid-friendly family ride :)
Our planet and community need our help! Your 100% tax deductible donation will support grassroots organizations that are growing a healthier, more just, greener, safer, more connected community -- in New Haven and beyond. Any money donated through my donation page will go specifically to support the work of these three awesome nonprofits:
*** The CT Audubon Society *** --- "Audubon CT engages communities in developing healthier habitats that benefit both birds and people. Through land stewardship, science, education, and advocacy, we work across the state to preserve habitat and protect bird species that are of state, national and global concern."
*** Solar Youth*** --- “Solar Youth is a non-profit organization providing opportunities and empowering youth from New Haven's low income neighborhoods to achieve lifelong success. Through programs that connect youth to the environment, their communities and each other, youth build the skills and motivations necessary to be positive contributors to their community, have healthy relationships, be physically and mentally healthy, and become economically self-sufficient.”
*** Elm City Cycling *** --- "Elm City Cycling is a nonprofit organization of more than 800 advocates whose mission is to make the greater New Haven area friendlier and more accessible to cyclists, pedestrians, and other users of non-motorized transportation."
