                Why I’m a Massaro MelonHead

I love Massaro Community Farm (MCF). Its mission gives me purpose:

Keep Farming.  Feed People.  Build Community.

I’ve worked as a volunteer board member at Massaro for over one decade, since the beginning of this audacious farm     re-juvenation project. The Rock to Rock bike fundraiser has been a major source of income for us. Over 75 people have ridden as Massaro MelonHeads.

There are five main reasons I ride and fundraise to support MCF:

1. Being on a team of loco, locavore environmentalist bike riders is FUN.

2. The resurrection of an abandoned farm has been a great challenge the past ten years, with much progress !

3. Sustainable agriculture is a very cost-effective Climate Change mitigation strategy.

4. The delicate squash and spring strawberries from Massaro are oh so delicious.

5. The programs at Massaro Farm build community and connect us to the land.

I am asking for your support so that we can complete a much needed build out of space in the barn.

Our educational programs have become so successful we need additional presentation areas and

more office space. Once we reach our GOAL of $35,000 in Rock to Rock this year we will be able to begin construction.

Please support me as I ride for the seventh time in this FUN fundraiser. Click HERE to donate. Remember, your contribution is 100% tax-deductible.
