Friends!  On April 27, 2019, Vivian and I will be in the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride, riding with about 1,000 friends and neighbors in the greater New Haven area to create a greener, healthier, more just climate, and raising funds for our work at Massaro Community Farm.   2018 was Vivian's first ride, she loved it, and is excited for more.  Here are a couple photos from last year:

This is a major fundraiser for us. You can help us make a difference for those in need. Thank you for supporting us on our ride for Massaro Community Farm!

WHY Support Massaro Farm?

The Massaro board, staff, and dedicated volunteers have resurrected a derelict farm with broken-down buildings and depleted soils to a state of beauty with restored structures, productive fields, and abundant organic produce. The farm has received national acclaim.

We are succeeding in our three-part Mission: Keep Farming, Feed People, Build Community

With your help we can continue our good work at Massaro Community Farm (MCF) which began as a non-profit in 2008. Since then, with a bare-bones staff, we have:

  • Established an ecological, organic farming operation, with nearly 10 acres under cultivation
  • Supported the establishment of four school gardens in area schools with accompanying nutrition education In partnership with FoodCorps
  • Restored an historic Massaro farmhouse, dating back to the 1850s, renovated the two-story gambrel dairy barn, and salvaged a 1931 stone barn
  • Donated over 60,000 pounds of fresh organic produce to local hunger relief organizations since our first year of growing in 2010
