Please help me create a greener, healthier, more just climate, from Rock to Rock! Our community and planet need our support!

On April 27, I will join about 1,000 of my friends and neighbors to ride from West Rock to East Rock to raise support for more than 30 community organizations. I would be honored to have you support my ride -- or to join me on the road, if you like!

I love the Massaro Farm.  I ride to fund raise to support our mission:  Keep Farming, Feed People, Build Community.

KEEP FARMING: there are 57 acres on the property. Ten acres contain the certified organic farm, and the remainder is forest and wetlands with nature trails running throughout. Click here to see the drone video of this beautiful place!

FEED PEOPLE: every year we donate at least 10% of our crop locally to people in need.  We partner with Columbus House (New Haven), CT Food Bank (East Haven), FISH New Haven, Jewish Family Services (New Haven), Masterā€™s Table Meals (Ansonia),  Salvation Army (Ansonia), Spooner House (Shelton), and Woodbridge Human Services.  Since 2010 we have donated over 60,000 pounds of food.  This is a most gratifying aspect of volunteering at the farm.

BUILD COMMUNITY: MCF offers a wonderful variety of programming throughout the year. Children come on field trips from the local schools, to after school programs as well as a summer camp.  We also have a wonderful Learning Garden that has given many a child the chance to look in amazement as they pull a carrot out of the ground! We also sponsor summer internships for high school students to learn what farming is all about. In addition, there is adult programming offered from bee keeping, to pickling, to bar tending tips for making cocktails and mixers using garden ingredients!  And every aspect of our educational programs highlights bringing sustainability into the way we live.

MY GOAL: This year I have set a goal of $4,000.  That is double my goal from last year - I NEED YOUR HELP!  Please support my ride (or join me!)!

Thank you so much for making a generous donation. It's 100% tax deductible, and goes to support a great cause.
